Proud, supportive, patient, long-suffering girlfriend to my Navy sailor. Mother to my boys, 17 years and 18 months. I'm a mom, again... hence the name of the blog. It really is like riding a bicycle, you think you forgot it all until you start riding again and realize, you never really forget.
I'm a SAHM to the youngest and we live in Portland, OR. My oldest lives in Phoenix with his dad but I see him as often as his busy teenage schedule allows. My boyfriend is stationed in San Diego and we see him as often as his busy Navy schedule allows. Can-man and I sit around with our suitcases half-packed and wait to be summoned. Uh, wink wink!
I really can't complain as I basically get to live between 3 cities: Portland, San Diego and Phoenix, my dad has dubbed me "Paris Hilton of the west coast". If you can't keep track of what state I happen to be in at any given moment, don't worry, neither can anyone else (including me).
I have recently become a Kindle addict. My favorite part of the day is crawling into bed with a cup of tea and the Kindle loaded with a good murder mystery. I sip my tea, read my Kindle and listen to the soft sounds of the slumbering Can-man. Ah, bliss.
I'm a fitness fanatic which clashes with my enormous sweet tooth on a daily basis. I enjoy Turbo Kick, strength training, the good ol' treadmill and salted caramel chocolate bars. Despite my undying devotion to chocolate, I'm almost 40 pounds down from my 6 weeks postpartum weight and I'm in better shape than I was before I was pregnant. Hoo-ah! (I'm pretty proud of myself.)
We have a spastic, neurotic cat named Murphy and a playful handful of a puppy, Cinnamon. Between the pets and the kids, someone is always wanting to be fed.
I have been blogging off and on since 2004. I've seen the blog scene evolve and change, not all for the better. It may not be quite like it used to be but instead of mourning the good old days, I decided to give it a go again and create some new memories. Whether you have been with me through the years (in which case, a huge thank you) or if you're new here, welcome! I'm happy to have you.
